Founder
Lukas Lauber
Lukas is the founder of Deheim, and ever since graduating with honors from EHL, his career has been focused on co-creation. His life’s goal is to create sustainable value by connecting people and fostering a sense of community in the modern, globalized world. Key milestones on this journey include opening a large design hotel with 114 communal living inspired flats, founding the association coolinarik.ch, which offers co-creative cooking workshops for adolescents, seniors, and refugees, and lobbying at major events such as AHIC, ITB, TEDx, and SHC for the potential of communal living. Lukas brings his enthusiasm to every Deheim workshop, inspiring participants to make informed choices and motivating them to put in the effort for lasting improvements in their lives and communities.
Sustainabilty Advisor
Emma Gouverneyre
Emma is our Sustainability Advisor with a Master’s in Sustainability Management. She excels in analyzing buildings’ energy and waste consumption to boost efficiency, sustainability, and reduce costs. With a focus on agroecological food systems and a passion for sustainable resource use, Emma helps motivated communities reduce their CO2 footprint, lessen societal costs, and implement ways to reuse waste. Her expertise lies in setting achievable goals that promote sustainability while fostering a sense of community through positive, collaborative actions.
Workshop Facilitator & Community Chef
Rafael Hug
Rafael is our Workshop Facilitator and Community Chef, combining his background in psychology and neuroscience with extensive experience in the culinary world. He assists with larger workshops, ensuring co-creation and engagement for groups over 30 people. As a chef, Raphael has worked in Michelin-starred restaurants in Japan and helped launch Château Raymond Pierre alongside our founder Lukas—a luxury agritourism hotel that won the Swiss Hotel Innovation Award. At Deheim, he helps kickstart communal cooking traditions, from garden barbecues to pickling workshops, creating smooth, self-sustaining event structures that foster community spirit without overwhelming any single resident.
Architect and sustainable building material Advisor
Marvin Schott
Marvin is our team’s architectural expert, with a Master’s degree from KIT in Karlsruhe. He gained valuable experience working at the Fluid Lab Architecture and Design Company, where he contributed to innovative projects focused on sustainable and forward-thinking design. Marvin supports Deheim by providing architectural guidance for properties before construction begins and helps tenants elevate their communal spaces or incorporate sustainable building materials. His expertise ensures that our projects align with both aesthetic and ecological goals, enhancing the overall living experience.
Regional Food Systems Coordinator
Flora Hohmann
Flora has spent many years working at the intersection of agriculture and gastronomy, sourcing regional products and developing locally-inspired menus. Through Studio Flora Hohmann, she offers culinary expertise aimed at creating refined food experiences that indulge the senses while remaining kind to the planet. Flora helps residents develop tailored diets and structures for enjoying food more seasonally and sustainably. She collaborates with them to bundle their purchasing power, enabling bulk buying from local sources, which saves money and strengthens local food systems.
Communal Garden Facilitator
Guy Bollin
Guy is our Community Garden Facilitator, bringing together his passion for plants with a strong social background. Having worked as a senior barkeeper on large cruise ships and at a bustling casino in Bern, he has developed exceptional people skills, making him a natural at engaging residents in community gardening projects. Guy’s expertise spans various gardening roles, and he is currently completing a specialized course in tree care, where he’s mastering advanced techniques. His unique blend of social experience and gardening knowledge makes him the ideal person to guide residents in creating a shared vision for their garden and supporting them in managing it self-sufficiently.
